O parting pink, indigo has got to go monstrous cabinet, Chick Corea castanets what was fear is now entitled truth O to be of use, Bubblegum Buddha has slipped the noose tied it to my heart, all lovelorn and pulled apart my favourite frog has flipped his lid for you gone askew couldn’t lose like Hungary in the ’54 final O sole mio, no more those Winter Gardens from long ago, summer shows, Kalchinsky Blue O so blue does no good to wrestle with the meaning of it all and will she call I don’t know I never held such lunacy before.

Antic Order 03:57
It’s raining out there So we stay inside It’s raining out there, like knives There’s a bitter wind that wraps the window pane It’s calling something, we can’t say. So it goes and came to pass Our last chance in the underpass So it goes almost made you laugh Made you cry Made you lie. This sorrow mooning all about the place Has left its mark by the fireplace Which won’t light up for a thousand years This house is a hotel When you are here. But if we called it all back, well what would we learn By turns? That the pulling it down only lasts for a while By half By none. So it goes but it came out wrong A dirty trick for a nonesuch crime It’s so low that I don’t want to know How it got there Or if it’s still there. You had waited all day to tell me that, what a brat! It’s the kind of thing you’d do when you’re drunk, So drunk, But you’re not. A rat-a-tat of laughter was the victor’s side An antic order must preside Over the dreadful leanings That we have so contrived Is all is all a master So benign?
4.
Baby I’ve lost my way, maybe I’ve seen all the things that I’ve wanted to see I cannot think of the past, I cannot think in terms no longer of use I need to feel a second chance, I need to feel the woman that used to be me can you see it in my eyes? Can you see all of things that I want to be real? Baby I’ve lost my way, but I’m hoping that it’s alright for anyone to say what they mean, I mean I got that from you I was all open for the light never leaves leaves me leaves you Can it be this way? Can we be both of the sexes? Hidden under a tree, or in Attic painted vases Licking at both cheeks that treated you to its assets Holding on to the one that we need for a light never leaves It was for certain that we’d come here again.

about

Deuseaville was recorded over 3 evenings with minimum equipment and limited overdubs. A spontaneous, and immediate EP, careering through influences like a scrap book of 70’s MOR.

If Cinque Ports can conjure this amount of ideas in just four tracks, one wonders what they might be able to do on a full-length album? You cannot help but feel that, after listening to Deuseaville, Cinque Ports are a band that still have many more tricks up their sleeve.
